Criteria for Selecting Reputable Individuals in Ethnic Minority Hamlets and Villages

March 06, 2018, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam signed Decision 12/2018/QD-TTg stipulating the criteria for selecting, recognizing reputable individuals, and the policy towards reputable individuals among ethnic minorities (DTTS).

The selection of reputable individuals within hamlets, villages, neighborhoods, hamlets, villages, phums, socs, residential groups within the ethnic minority community is determined by the following criteria:

- Being a Vietnamese citizen, having a legal place of residence, regardless of ethnicity;- Exemplary in adhering to the Party's principles, policies, and the laws of the State and local authorities;- Being a prominent individual with significant contributions to patriotic emulation movements, poverty alleviation, maintaining security and order, preserving cultural identity, and fostering national unity;- Knowledgeable about the traditional culture, customs, and practices of the ethnic group; having close relationships and influence within the clan, ethnic group, and residential community;- Capable of uniting ethnic minorities through words and actions, trusted and believed in by the people, who listen to and follow their guidance.
