The Ministry of Health has just approved Decision 2429/QD-BYT, attached with the "Criteria for Assessing the Quality Levels of Medical Testing Laboratories" (referred to as the Assessment Criteria) to be used at medical examination and treatment facilities that conduct tests.
- The evaluation criteria are self-assessed by the units and carried out publicly, serving as a basis for state agencies to evaluate, monitor, and announce the quality levels of laboratories, applied on a pilot basis during the years 2017 - 2018.- The evaluation criteria consist of 3 parts with 12 chapters, 169 criteria, and accompanying sub-items.
Each criterion corresponds to a certain point scale.
The criteria are evaluated and answered according to 4 options: Achieved; Partially Achieved; Not Achieved; or Not Applicable.
The Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Administration is responsible for cooperating with relevant units to organize inspections, monitoring, evaluation, and announcement of the quality levels of laboratories, serving as a basis for the recognition of interrelated test results.
For detailed guidance on the use of the evaluation criteria, see Decision 2429/QD-BYT effective from the date of signing and issuance.
