Criteria for awarding the Medal "For the Cause of Agriculture and Rural Development" in Vietnam 

The medal "For the Cause of Agriculture and Rural Development" was decided to be awarded once by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development to individuals who have a history of dedication or meritorious contributions to the cause of agricultural and rural development in Vietnam, specifically as follows. :

(1) Individuals working in the Agriculture and Rural Development sector

- Individuals who are working or have retired and have worked in the industry for 15 years or more for women and 20 years or more for men.

For individuals transferring jobs to the Agriculture and Rural Development sector with a total working time of 15 years or more for women and 20 years or more for men, including 7 years of working time in the Agriculture and Rural Development sector for women and 10 years for men;

- Leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development;

- Leaders of departments, bureaus, institutes, and equivalent agencies, organizations, and units under and under the Ministry who have held leadership positions for 5 years or more for chief level, 7 years or more
for deputies;

- Individuals working in the Agriculture and Rural Development sector are awarded the titles "Hero of the People's Armed Forces", "Hero of Labor", "Professor", "People's Teacher", "People's Doctor" , "People's Artisan", "National Emulation Soldier", "Associate Professor", "Outstanding Teacher", "Outstanding Physician", "Outstanding Artisan";

- Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director (Director) of the Cooperative; Farm owners and private business owners operating in the field of Agriculture and Rural Development continuously for 10 years or more.

(2) Individuals outside the industry with achievements in contributing to the Agriculture and Rural Development industry

- Individuals who are Vietnamese working for international organizations or Vietnamese people abroad with achievements in contributing to the development of the Agriculture and Rural Development sector;

- Individuals who are foreigners with achievements in contributing to the development of the Agriculture and Rural Development sector.

(3) Special cases are considered and decided by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Cases not considered for awarding the Medal "For the cause of Agriculture and Rural Development"

- Individual who has been awarded one of the Medals or Commemorative Medals: "For the cause of agricultural development"; "For the cause of Forest Protection and Development"; "For the development of Vietnam's irrigation industry"; "For the cause of Fisheries"; "For the development of the Fisheries industry";

- Individuals in the course of work are disciplined in the form of dismissal;

- Individuals are in the process of being disciplined or in the process of considering disciplinary action; the time spent being disciplined is not counted for consideration in awarding a Medal;

- People who have voluntarily left their jobs, agencies, organizations, or units.

Circular 10/2023/TT-BNNPTNT takes effect on January 1, 2024.
