Recently, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam signed and issued Directive 17/CT-TTg to continue enhancing the responsibility of state management regarding food safety in the new context.
In order to continue enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of management, ensuring food safety, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam requires ministries, ministerial-level agencies, and People's Committees at all levels to seriously and fully perform their responsibilities in food safety management; to strengthen post-inspection, inspection, examination work and severely handle, including criminal prosecution of organizations and individuals that seriously violate regulations on food safety, affecting consumer health according to the provisions of the law; severely handle organizations and individuals who are negligent, irresponsible in food safety management.
Additionally, the Prime Minister also requires the Ministry of Public Security to intensify directives on the investigation and criminal handling of cases, organizations, and individuals that seriously violate food safety according to legal regulations.
