On November 4, 2024, the Minister of Health of Vietnam issued Circular 30/2024/TT-BYT stipulating the list and content of basic healthcare service packages conducted by commune, ward, and commune-level town Health Stations. This includes provisions regarding the content of periodic health examination and care service packages for students.
As stipulated in the Appendix issued with Circular 30/2024/TT-BYT, the content of the periodic health examination and care service package for students conducted by the Commune Health Station in Vietnam is as follows:
- Location: at the Commune Health Station, or at a medical facility, or at preschools and general education institutions within the commune.
- Subjects: children at preschools and students at general education institutions.
- Frequency: 01 time per year.
- Content:
+ Examination and health check-ups for children and students including: physical strength, blood pressure, heart rate, vision, hearing; detection of cases of malnutrition, overweight obesity, decreased vision, scoliosis, oral diseases, mental health disorders, and other diseases depending on each educational level;
+ Checking immunization schedules and providing vaccination advice;
+ Advising and guiding on nutrition policies and appropriate physical activity for children, students, and parents;
+ Providing supplements for micronutrients (if any) or advising and guiding parents on the use of micronutrient supplements for children from 06 months to under 36 months.
- Procedures and implementation guidance according to:
+ Joint Circular 13/2016/TTLT-BYT-BGDDT from the Minister of Health and the Minister of Education and Training regulations on school health;
+ Circular 23/2017/TT-BYT from the Minister of Health guiding the establishment of health monitoring records and periodic health check-ups by age for children; health care and nutrition advice;
+ Decision 4280/QD-BGDDT of 2022 from the Minister of Education and Training approving guidelines for organizing school meals combined with strengthening physical activity for junior high school students;
- Decision 2195/QD-BGDDT of 2022 from the Minister of Education and Training approving guidelines for organizing school meals, combined with physical activity for children, students in preschools, and primary schools;
- Decision 4944/QD-BYT of 2014 from the Minister of Health issuing national guidelines on preventing micronutrient deficiencies.
