The Minister of Information and Communications of Vietnam promulgated Circular 04/2024/TT-BTTTT on May 10, 2024, on the Planning for the 880-915 MHz and 925-960 MHz bands for IMT public land mobile telecommunication systems of Vietnam.

Planning for the 880-915 MHz and 925-960 MHz bands for IMT public land mobile telecommunication systems of Vietnam

The planning for the 880-915 MHz and 925-960 MHz frequency bands until September 15, 2026 in Vietnam is as follows:

- The 880-915 MHz and 925-960 MHz frequency bands are used to deploy public terrestrial mobile information systems following IMT-2000, IMT-Advanced, IMT-2020 standards, and subsequent versions using the Frequency Division Duplex (hereinafter referred to as FDD) transmission method;

- The 880-915 MHz frequency band is used as the uplink band, divided into 04 blocks B1, B2, B3, and B4 with widths of 10 MHz, 8.4 MHz, 8.2 MHz, and 8.2 MHz respectively;

- The 925-960 MHz frequency band is used as the downlink band, divided into 04 blocks B1', B2', B3', and B4' with widths of 10 MHz, 8.4 MHz, 8.2 MHz, and 8.2 MHz respectively;

- The maximum total bandwidth that an organization is licensed to use in the 880-915 MHz and 925-960 MHz bands is 2x10 MHz using the FDD method;

- Organizations licensed to use the frequency bands in the 880-915 MHz and 925-960 MHz bands are responsible for cooperating with each other to prevent and handle harmful interference;

- To avoid causing harmful interference to other licensed radio systems operating in certain areas within the 880-915 MHz and 925-960 MHz bands, organizations licensed to use the frequency bands must implement technical solutions to handle harmful interference as guided by the Ministry of Information and Communications (Radio Frequency Department).

Refer to the planning for the 890-915 MHz and 935-960 MHz frequency bands for Vietnam's IMT public land mobile telecommunication system from September 16, 2026, at Circular 04/2024/TT-BTTTT (effective from June 24, 2024).
