This is the content of Directive 31/CT-TTg issued by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam on July 06, 2017, regarding strengthening urgent measures for the prevention and control of rabies.
In addition to addressing the limitations in the rabies prevention and control efforts, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam requests that the Chairpersons of the People's Committees of provinces and cities focus on implementing the following measures:
- Use the results of rabies prevention and control efforts as criteria for recognizing cultural family status and evaluating the completion of tasks by officials and Party members;- Support rabies vaccination for animals; provide post-exposure rabies vaccines for residents in poor districts, remote areas, highly disadvantaged areas, and those participating in rabies prevention efforts when bitten by dogs or cats;- Accurately enumerate households that keep dogs in residential areas and require these households to commit to reporting, complying with the regulations on leashing, confining, and vaccinating their dogs against rabies;
Directive 31/CT-TTg takes effect from the date of signing.
