Conditions for licensing train drivers on the newly operated urban railway in Vietnam

The Ministry of Transport of Vietnam just issued Circular 05/2021/TT-BGTVT amending Circular 33/2018/TT-BGTVT < /a> and Circular 24/2020/TT-BGTVT on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Circulars regulating the periodical report regime in the railway sector.

According to Circular 05, the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam supplements regulations on conditions for granting train driving licenses to the first train drivers on new urban railway lines put into operation with technology for the first time used in Vietnam, including:

- Having sufficient documents as prescribed, for example:

A written request for the issuance of a license from the urban railway enterprise, made according to the prescribed form.

+ An application form for a driver's license, made according to the form.

+Certificate of eligibility for driving health.

+ 03 color photos 3X4cm in size taken within 06 months of application submission...

- Being a train driver who has met the requirements of the urban railway enterprise or the project investor (or the organization assigned by the project investor to manage the urban railway project) when directly controlling the train to ensure safety during the trial operation of the whole system of the project;

- Having been assessed by the Board of Examinations for a driving license to meet the requirements as prescribed.
