Conditions for Granting Interest Rate Subsidy for Loans to Purchase Social Housing

The Prime Minister has issued Decision 18/2018/QD-TTg providing guidance on interest rate differential compensation for the implementation of social housing loan policies in accordance with Decree 100/2015/ND-CP.

The loans subsidized by the state budget to cover the interest rate difference when fully meeting the following conditions:

- The credit agreement has been signed, and the loan has been disbursed at credit institutions in accordance with Decree 100/2015/ND-CP;- The borrower and the loan usage are in accordance with the regulations of the law;- The loan is current at the time of interest rate difference compensation; no compensation is provided for the period when the loan is overdue or extended.

In case the borrower has fully repaid the overdue debt and the loan is determined to be back in current status, interest rate difference compensation will continue in accordance with Decree 100/2015/ND-CP.

Decision 18/2018/QD-TTg takes effect from May 20, 2018, and applies to loan disbursements from December 10, 2018.
