Code of professional ethics of procurators in Vietnam

The Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam issued Vietnam's Decision 21/QD-VKSTC dated February 7, 2023, on the Code of Professional Ethical Standards for Procurators.

According to Vietnam's Decision 21/QD-VKSTC, the code of professional ethics of the procurators includes:

- Fairness;

- Integrity;

- Objectivity;

- Prudence;

- Humility.

In addition, procurators must also meet general requirements on ethical standards such as:

- Complete devotion to the Fatherland and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, as well as the Communist Party of Vietnam;

Strictly observe the discipline and principles of organization and operation of the People's Procuracy.

- In the performance of official duties, always speak, write, and follow the party's program, charter, resolutions, directives, conclusions, regulations, and decisions; state laws; and People's Procuracy regulations.

Dedicated and professional in handling work.

- Having a strong political will, not shirking responsibility, bravely fighting against violations, crimes and corrupt and negative acts;

Resolutely defend the Constitution, the law, justice, and fairness.

- Having good moral qualities, integrity, honesty, seriousness, decency and humanity;

Always put the interests of the Party, the State, the people, and the collective before their own interests.

- Focusing on cultivating, training yourself, being constantly vigilant, steadfast in your ideals, will, sense of discipline, and practicing a healthy lifestyle.

Vietnam's Decision 21/QD-VKSTC takes effect from the date of signing.
