Foreign workers are subject to compulsory social insurance if they meet the following conditions:

- Have a work permit or a practicing certificate or a practicing license issued by the competent authority of Vietnam;- Have an indefinite-term labor contract or a definite-term labor contract with a duration of at least one year with an employer in Vietnam;- Are under 60 years old for men and under 55 years old for women;- Are not subject to internal transfer within the enterprise as stipulated in Clause 1, Article 3 of Decree 11/2016/ND-CP.
