Recently, Vietnam Social Security issued Decision No. 1270/QD-BHXH amending and supplementing a number of provisions of the Regulations on the management and issuance of Social Insurance numbers for participants in Social Insurance and Health Insurance, promulgated together with Decision No. 346/QD-BHXH.

In which, additional provisions stipulate that in cases where the Commune People's Committee has interconnected the database with the Ministry of Justice and the social insurance agency's software system, the social insurance number for children under 6 years old will be automatically issued immediately after receiving the data from the Ministry of Justice.

Simultaneously, during the process of updating household member fluctuations, the software system at the district social insurance agency will continue to carry out tasks such as:

- Printing the list of individuals who only participate in health insurance and have a social insurance number for children under 6 years old, transferring it to the Collection Management Department/Team to perform arising tasks according to Clause 2, Article 33 of Decision 595/QD-BHXH within a maximum of 24 hours;- Transferring data according to Form 01-BD containing the information of children issued health insurance cards to the Post Office for information collection and software updating;- Transferring data according to Form 01-BD in the case of death registrations to the Post Office for verification and software updating.

Decision 1270/QD-BHXH takes effect from September 30, 2019.
