Children under 15 years old are subject to medical isolation period of 14 days in Vietnam

On February 7, 2021, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam issued Official Dispatch 897/BYT-MT in 2021 on guidelines for medical isolation for children under 15 years old.

According to Vietnam's Official Dispatch 897/BYT-MT clearly states that the time for medical isolation for children under 15 years old is 14 days, of which:

  • For children under 5 years old in Vietnam: Carry out medical isolation at home when meeting the requirements for prevention and control of Covid-19 epidemic;

  •  

    For children from 5 years old to 15 years old in Vietnam: Carry out concentrated medical isolation for seven days after having three negative test results for SARS-CoV-2 (1 time when starting isolation, 2nd time on the 3rd day, and 3rd time on the 7th day); allow medical isolation at home when meeting the requirements for prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic. Moving from concentrated medical isolation facilities to your home must strictly comply with regulations on epidemic prevention and control.

Note: For home medical isolation, a healthy person must take care of and supervise the child during the isolation period. Do not let the elderly stay in the same house as the children.
