Changing the organizational structure of the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam

On February 17, 2017, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree No. 17/2017/NĐ-CP on functions, duties, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Information and Communications.

According to Decree No. 17/2017/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government, currently, organizational structure of the Ministry of Information and Communications includes 28 units (previously, there are 29 units), in which:

- 21 units assist the Minister of Information and Communications with state management;

- 07 units are service providers affiliated to the Ministry.

The change in the organizational structure of the Ministry of Information and Communications is as follows:

- Annulling: Authority of Southern Affairs; Vietnam Television Technology Investment and Development Company; Center for Press and International Communication Co-operation;

- Supplementing: Vietnam Net online newspaper; Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology;

- Department of Grassroots Information is changed into Authority of Grassroots Information;

- Information and Communications Technology Journal is changed into Information and Communications Journal.

Decree No. 17/2017/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government takes effect from the date of signing, replacing Decree No. 132/2013/NĐ-CP.
