Certificate of Marine Surveyor is Valid for Only 5 Years

This is a notable new point in Circular 51/2017/TT-BGTVT regulating Inspectors and Professional Staff for Marine Vessel Registration, issued by the Ministry of Transport.

The Seagoing Ship Registry Inspector's Certificate is stipulated according to Form No. 01 in the Appendix attached to Circular 51 and has a validity period of 5 years, with an annual re-confirmation.

Additionally, the Seagoing Ship Registry Inspector's Card also has a validity period of 5 years and is regulated according to Form No. 02 attached to Circular 51.

In addition to the aforementioned contents, Circular 51 clearly outlines the standards for Seagoing Ship Registry Inspectors, for instance:

- Graduating from a university in one of the fields related to seagoing ships, marine structures, or industrial product manufacturing;- Completing professional training courses;- Holding an English language certificate;- Having a seagoing ship registry internship period of 2 years or more;- ...

Circular 51/2017/TT-BGTVT takes effect from March 1, 2018, and rescinds Circular 65/2011/TT-BGTVT.
