By the year 2030, 100% of online public services in Vietnam will be supported by AI

On May 3, 2024, the Minister of Information and Communications of Vietnam issued Decision 699/QD-BTTTT approving the 2024 Action Plan to implement the Strategy for the development and application of Artificial Intelligence until 2030 (AI Application Strategy).

By the year 2030, 100% of online public services in Vietnam will be supported by AI

The performance targets for the 2024 Action Plan implementing the Artificial Intelligence Development Strategy to 2030 (AI Application Strategy) are as follows:

- By 2024:

+ 30% of comprehensive online public services will apply AI to support businesses and citizens.

+ 20% of urban areas will have AI applications addressing at least one urgent social issue in the urban area.

+ A minimum of 100 officers and experts in state agencies and state-owned Corporations, General Companies will be trained and fostered with knowledge about AI applications.

+ 20% of state agencies at the Ministerial and Provincial levels will have opened data and provided open data to serve the development of AI applications for the digital economy and digital society.

- By 2030:

+ 100% of comprehensive online public services will apply AI to support businesses and citizens.

+ 100% of urban areas will have AI applications addressing at least one urgent social issue in the urban area.

+ A minimum of 1000 officers and experts in state agencies and state-owned Corporations, General Companies will be trained and fostered with knowledge about AI applications.

+ 100% of state agencies at the Ministerial and Provincial levels will have opened data and provided open data to serve the development of AI applications for the digital economy and digital society.

The implementation of the above targets must ensure the following requirements:

- Clearly define tasks, completion timelines, and the responsibility of each agency and unit in executing the assigned tasks.

- Identified tasks must have a focus, a clear implementation roadmap ensuring feasibility; to be deployed in 2024 and the subsequent years.

- Agencies and units assigned tasks should proactively coordinate closely with related agencies and units inside and outside the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam to effectively and qualitatively implement the assigned objectives and tasks.
