By 2030: To reduce at least 30% of public vocational education institutions compared to 2020 in Vietnam

Below is the content issued by the Prime Minister of Vietnam in Decision 73/QD-TTg dated 10/02/2023 approving the master plan on the network of vocational education institutions for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2045.

According to Vietnam's Decision 73/QD-TTg, in the development target to 2030, there will be a reduction of at least 30% of public vocational education institutions compared to 2020, specifically:

- Reduce about 50% of public secondary schools;

- Increase the proportion of private vocational education institutions and foreign-invested vocational education institutions to about 50%.

At the same time, develop a network of vocational education institutions capable of meeting the needs of vocationally trained human resources in developing countries with modern industry and high middle-class income.

Furthermore, it is determined, with a vision of 2045, to focus on developing a network of vocational education institutions capable of meeting the needs of vocationally trained human resources in developed and high-income countries.

The quality of training is among the best in the ASEAN region; a number of vocational education institutions catch up with the world's advanced level, have outstanding competitiveness in a number of training fields, industries, and occupations.

Vietnam's Decision 73/QD-TTg takes effect from the date of signing.
