By 2025: Ensuring Sufficient Food and Provisions for All Households

On June 12, 2018, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam issued Decision 712/QD-TTg on the National Action Program "Zero Hunger" in Vietnam until 2025.

The objectives to be achieved by 2025 must ensure:

- Basically, all households have enough food and foodstuffs to ensure year-round nutrition;- Reduce malnutrition in children under 2 years old;- Develop a sustainable food system by ensuring that 100% of households participating in the program are involved in cooperatives, cooperative alliances, and production linkages;- Most small-scale farming households increase crop and livestock productivity and boost income by 10%.

The estimated total cost of implementing the program is VND 545,110 million, sourced from the national target program for poverty reduction, annual career capital, and support from international organizations.

Decision 712/QD-TTg takes effect from June 12, 2018.
