New Text Notification

Available in Vietnam: Decree 37/2021/ND-CP amending Decree on guidelines for Law on Citizen Identification.

Recently, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree 37/2021/ND-CP amending a number of articles of Decree 137/2015/ND-CP elaborating a number of articles and measures to implement the Law on Citizenship Identification.

Clause 8 Article 1 of Decree 37 stipulates amendments to procedures for use of information in national population database specificed in Article 10 of Decree 137. Specifically, from May 14, 2021, citizens can use information in Vietnam National Database on Population through 03 forms as follows:

- Via written information requests;

- Via text messages;

- Via the national population database, national public service portal, public service portal of the Ministry of Public Security and ministerial-level and provincial electronic single-window information systems.

Currently, according to Vietnam's Decree 137/2015/ND-CP, organizations and individuals wishing to use information in the National Population Database must send a written request to Vietnam National Population Database management agency.

As above, Vietnam's Decree 37/2021/ND-CP has added 02 more forms of use of information in Vietnam National Population Database compared to the current regulations.
