Recently, the Ministry of Public Security issued Circular 65/2020/TT-BCA, stipulating the tasks, powers, forms, contents, and procedures for patrolling, inspection, and handling of administrative violations in road traffic by the Traffic Police.
During the patrol and control of road traffic, the Traffic Police (CSGT) have the following powers:
- Authorized to stop vehicles in accordance with the provisions of the Road Traffic Law, Circular 65/2020/TT-BCA, and other relevant legal regulations;- Control individuals and vehicles participating in road traffic, documents of the vehicle operators, documents of the vehicles, and personal identification documents of the people in the vehicles being controlled as prescribed by law; control the implementation of regulations on road transport activities as prescribed by law;- Authorized to apply preventive measures and handle violations of road traffic, social order, and other violations as prescribed by law;- Equipped, installed, and authorized to use transport means, technical and professional equipment, weapons, and supportive tools in accordance with legal regulations and the Ministry of Public Security;- …
