Assessment of Oil Spill Incident Pollution at Sea every 15 Days

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has just issued Circular 33/2018/TT-BTNMT stipulating the procedures for addressing the consequences of oil spills at sea.

The assessment of environmental pollution caused by oil spills at sea is conducted periodically every 15 days and follows the template stipulated in Appendix 04 issued with Circular 33/2018/TT-BTNMT.

Monitoring the progression of environmental pollution due to oil spills at sea is conducted within 30 days from the date of the detailed assessment report on the extent of marine environmental pollution caused by the oil spill.

For the environments with parameters exceeding national standards and regulations, the frequency of measurement, observation, sampling, and analysis is as follows:

- Marine water environment: once a week;- Surface seabed sediment environment: once every 2 weeks.
