June 13, 2017, the Ministry of Finance issued Circular 59/2017/TT-BTC stipulating the fee rates for appraisal of hazardous waste treatment permits.

The fee levels for assessment and issuance of hazardous waste treatment permits are regulated according to the geographical area where the waste treatment plant of the applying organization or individual is located. To be specific:

- Area I: New issuance is 12,300,000 VND; reissuance is 3,600,000 VND;- Area II: New issuance is 16,800,000 VND; reissuance is 4,900,000 VND;- Area III: New issuance is 33,600,000 VND; reissuance is 9,900,000 VND;- Area IV: New issuance is 39,200,000 VND; reissuance is 11,500,000 VND.

The fee levels do not include the costs of sampling and analyzing waste samples.

The fee payer is required to pay the assessment fee within 10 working days from the time of receiving the trial operation approval document from the licensing authority.

Circular 59/2017/TT-BTC takes effect from August 1, 2017.
