Approving the list of 13,222 extremely difficult villages in Vietnam for the period of 2021-2025

Recently, the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs of Vietnam promulgated Decision 612/QD-UBDT dated September 16, 2021 on approving the list of villages with special difficulties in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the 2021-2025 period.

According to the Decision, the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs of Vietnam approved a list of 13,222 villages with special difficulties in 41 provinces and centrally-run cities, including:

  • 11,179 villages of zone III communes;

  • 736 villages of commune area II;

  • 1,184 villages of the commune area I

  • 123 villages of communes have villages belonging to ethnic minorities and mountainous areas.

(Previously, in Decision 433/QD-UBDT of Vietnam dated June 18, 2021, a list of 2,027 extremely difficult villages in ethnic minority and mountainous areas of 40 provinces and centrally-run cities was approved.)

In the course of implementation, if there is a split, merger, dissolution or name change, the Provincial People's Committee shall direct functional departments and branches to review and determine according to the criteria and prepare dossiers according to regulations of Decision 33/2020/QD-TTg sent to the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs to summarize, appraise and decide on adjustments and supplements.
