On January 11, 2024, the Prime Minister issued Decision 38/QD-TTg on approving the Vietnam Social Insurance Sector Development Strategy until 2030.

Approval of the Vietnam Social Insurance Sector Development Strategy

The overall objectives of the Vietnam Social Insurance Sector Development Strategy are as follows:

- Developing Vietnam's Social Insurance industry in a professional, modern, effective, and efficient manner to properly implement social insurance, unemployment insurance, and health insurance policies and regimes; gradually and sustainably expanding social insurance and health insurance coverage towards the goal of social insurance and health insurance for all people.

- Improving the efficiency of management and financial use of social insurance, unemployment insurance, and health insurance funds in accordance with the provisions of the law and the principles of centralization, unity, openness, transparency, and safety.

- Investment in insurance funds is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the law to ensure safety, sustainability, and efficiency.

- Renewing and restructuring the organizational apparatus of the Vietnam Social Insurance towards a lean, professional, modern, efficient, and effective operation that meets the requirements of reform and modernization of the Vietnam Social Insurance sector, ensuring the correct implementation of the Party's viewpoints and policies , state laws, and practical conditions.

- Strong application of information technology, promoting digital transformation. Improve operational efficiency on a modern, integrated, interconnected, centralized processing platform, ensuring network information security; Pioneering in testing new technologies and models to better serve people and businesses participating in social insurance, unemployment insurance, and health insurance; and, at the same time, contributing to the implementation of the Government's National Digital Transformation Program.
