Approval of the Scheme for the elderly's participation in promoting digital transformation, green transformation, startups, and job creation in Vietnam

(1) Perspectives

- Thoroughly and deeply institutionalize the viewpoints, policies, and guidelines of the Vietnam Communist Party and the laws of the State on the elderly's participation in promoting digital transformation, green transition, startup, and job creation amidst the rapid aging population process in Vietnam.

- Establish a unified awareness and mindset that the elderly are an important resource contributing to the achievement of the nation's sustainable development goals in the new era, an era of national resurgence; meet the needs and aspirations of the elderly for employment, contribution, and work, while enjoying the developmental achievements of the country.

- The implementation of the Scheme aligns with the current process of digital transformation, green transition, startup, and job creation, ensuring feasibility, inheritance and promotion of practical results, selectively absorbing international experiences suitable to Vietnam's conditions.

- The organization and implementation process ensures close coordination between ministries and central authorities, agencies, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, mass organizations, local governments, and the Vietnam Association of the Elderly; the participation of businesses and citizens to continue to promote the intelligence and experience of the elderly in driving digital transformation, green transition, startup, and job creation, contributing positively to the socio-economic development of the country.

(2) General Objectives

- Raise society’s and local authorities' awareness of the position and role of the elderly; the awareness and aspirations of officials, members, and the elderly regarding the Communist Party's policies and State laws on the elderly's participation in driving digital transformation, green transition, startup, and job creation in the new development phase.

- Harness the potential, role, and experience of the elderly in promoting digital transformation, green transition, startup, and job creation in alignment with their aspirations, needs, and ability to make significant contributions to achieving the country's sustainable development goals.

- Create conditions for the elderly to participate in promoting digital transformation, green transition, startup, and job creation; improve their material and spiritual quality of life; continue to set a bright example and educate the younger generation, ensuring political security, social order and safety, building and defending the Fatherland.
