On September 30, 2024, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam issued Decision 2899/QD-BYT regarding the approval of the Scheme for consultation and provision of reproductive health care services for employees in industrial parks and export processing zones in Vietnam for the period 2024-2030
Aiming to improve health, reduce the incidence of reproductive and sexual health issues among employees in industrial parks and export processing zones, and contribute to increasing labor productivity for enterprises in Vietnam.
The scheme has set forth specific objectives as follows:
* Specific Objective 1:
Enhancing the commitment of policymakers, local governments, trade unions, and relevant parties to create a favorable environment for health care and reproductive health care for employees.
Targets by 2030:
- 100% of local governments organize intersectoral inspection and supervision teams regarding the implementation of reproductive health care policies for employees in industrial parks and export processing zones in their areas and provide feedback reports.
- 100% of provinces and cities issue local plans to implement the Scheme "Consultation and Provision of Reproductive Health Services for employees in industrial parks and Export Processing Zones in Vietnam for the Period 2024-2030."
* Specific Objective 2:
Enhancing the social responsibility of enterprises in industrial parks and export processing zones in developing and implementing policies on reproductive health care for employees.
Targets by 2030:
- Over 50% of enterprises have regulations and policies regarding reproductive health care that are more favorable for employees in the Collective Labor Agreement, while organizing practical activities to implement corporate social responsibility in reproductive health care for employees.
- 90% of enterprises promote the State's policies on reproductive health care for employees.
- 90% of enterprises cooperate with medical facilities to organize communications, consultation, and provision of reproductive health care services appropriate to the living conditions and working hours of employees, with suitable prices and ensure quality according to the Ministry of Health regulations.
- 90% of medical facilities in industrial parks and export processing zones are trained in the content of policies on reproductive health care for employees.
