Approval of the Power Supply and Operation Plan for the National Power System for 2024 in Vietnam

The Ministry of Industry and Trade approves the Power Supply and Operation Plan for the National Power System in 2024 as submitted by Vietnam Electricity Group in Document 7088/EVN-KH+TTĐ+KTSX+TCKT dated November 28, 2023, as follows:

- The total electricity production capacity of power plants (at the generator terminals) and imports nationwide in 2024 is 306.259 billion kWh, of which the dry season is 148.489 billion kWh and the rainy season is 157.769 billion kWh.

- The actual electricity trading volume of power plants (according to power purchase contracts and electricity pricing plans) will be determined according to relevant regulations on electricity prices and the electricity market. Power generation units are responsible for proactively preparing for power generation, including ensuring the readiness capacity of generating units and arranging primary fuel sources (coal, gas, and oil) sufficient for monthly power generation in 2024.

- Vietnam Electricity Group is fully responsible for the accuracy, reasonableness, and validity of input data/parameters and the calculated results of the Power Supply and Operation Plan for the National Power System in 2024, ensuring compliance with the commitments in the power purchase contracts/commercial agreements, and fuel supply agreements that have been signed, especially the contracts/agreements with power plant projects invested under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) model. The group is responsible for disputes arising from the committed terms or causing adverse legal and financial obligations for Vietnam.

In addition, Vietnam Electricity Group is also responsible for publishing the Power Supply and Operation Plan for the National Power System in 2024, including the plan to mobilize electricity production capacity on a monthly basis in 2024 according to Plan 4a in Document 7088/EVN-KH+TTĐ+KTSX+TCKT dated November 28, 2023, to the investors of power plants and relevant units for them to proactively prepare their production plans.
