The Ministry of Home Affairs has just issued Circular 08/2018/TT-BNV providing guidance on the adjustment of monthly subsidies from July 1, 2018 for retired commune officials pursuant to Decision 130-CP dated June 20, 1975 of the Council of Government and Decision 111-HDPT dated October 13, 1981 of the Council of Ministers.

Monthly allowances for retired elderly commune officials are as follows:

- Officials who formerly held positions as Secretary of the Communist Party Committee, or Chairman of the People's Committee: 1,974,000 VND/month;- Officials who formerly held positions as Deputy Secretary, Deputy Chairman, Standing member of the Communist Party Committee, Secretary member of the People's Committee, Secretary of the People's Council, Commune Militia Chief, Commune Police Chief: 1,910,000 VND/month;- Other positions: 1,768,000 VND/month.

The formula for adjusting the allowance level is as follows:

Monthly allowance = Allowance received in June 2018 x 1.0692

Circular 08/2018/TT-BNV takes effect from August 15, 2018, replacing Circular 04/2017/TT-BNV.
