Application of international organization for registration of disaster response and recovery in Vietnam

Recently, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree No. 160/2018/ND-CP on guidelines for some Articles of the Law on Natural Disaster Preparedness and Recovery.

According to Decree No. 160/2018/ND-CP of Vietnam’s Government, before entering Vietnam to engage in disaster response and recovery, the foreign individual or international organization shall submit an application to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. An application includes:

- An application form, specifying: name of the organization/individual; purposes; date and place of disaster response and recovery;

- A list of goods, materials and equipment;

- A list of participants.

Within 02 days from the receipt of the application, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development shall notify application processing result to the applicant and relevant authorities.

Moreover, the above-mentioned entities shall have the right to enter and exit the country, import and export vehicles, equipment, and goods to serve emergency response, search and rescue operations, and disaster relief and recovery.
