Annual Leave Policy for Active-Duty Officers

The Ministry of National Defense issues Circular 153/2017/TT-BQP stipulating leave policies for officers of the Vietnam People's Army. Each year, active-duty officers are entitled to the following leave policies:

- Entitled to 20 days off if working < 15 years;- Entitled to 25 days off if working from 15 years to < 25 years;- Entitled to 30 days off if working 25 years or more.

For officers stationed far from their families, parents, or legal guardians, additional leave is granted as follows:

- 10 days if:- Stationed ≥ 500 km away from their families;- Stationed in remote, isolated, border areas ≥ 300 km away from their families;- Stationed on islands in the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, DK.- 05 days if:- Stationed between 300 km and < 500 km away from their families;- Stationed in remote, isolated, border areas ≥ 200 km away from their families and have an area coefficient of ≥ 0.5;- Stationed on islands that receive area allowances.
