Announcement of schedule for Lunar New Year holiday in Hai Phong for officials and public employees

On December 5, 2024, the People's Committee of Hai Phong city issued Announcement 298/TB-UBND regarding the Lunar New Year and National Day holidays in 2025 for officials, public employees, and employees.

The People's Committee of the city announces for administrative bodies, agencies, political organizations, political-social organizations, enterprises, and other employers to implement the holiday schedule for the Lunar New Year, National Day, Victory Day on April 30, and International Labor Day on May 1, 2025, as follows:

1. Officials and public employees and employees of administrative bodies, agencies, political organizations, and political-social organizations will have the Lunar New Year 2025 off from Saturday, January 25, 2025 (the 26th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Dragon) to the end of Sunday, February 2, 2025 (the 5th day of the 1st lunar month of the Year of the Snake).

   This holiday period includes 5 days for the Lunar New Year and 4 regular days off.

2. Officials and public employees will have National Day 2025 off from Saturday, August 30, 2025, to the end of Tuesday, September 2, 2025. This holiday includes 2 days for National Day and 2 regular days off.

3. Officials and public employees can swap their workday from Friday, May 2, 2025, to Saturday, April 26, 2025. Thus, for the Victory Day on April 30 and International Labor Day on May 1, 2025, officials and public employees will have 5 consecutive days off from Wednesday, April 30, 2025, to the end of Sunday, May 4, 2025 (compensatory work on Saturday, April 26, 2025).

4. Agencies and units are required to manage the Lunar New Year holidays, National Day holidays, Victory Day on April 30, and International Labor Day on May 1, 2025, by arranging, scheduling standby units according to regulations, working reasonably to ensure continuous performance, providing excellent services to organizations and citizens, and appointing officials on standby to handle unforeseen and emergency tasks during holidays as per regulations.

5. Agencies and units, localities with specific plans, measures designed to encourage units, enterprises, organizations, and individuals to actively and proactively implement operational, business, and economic-social activities, ensuring the stable supply and demand of goods, services, prices, and markets, contributing to the promotion of production, business, economic growth, practicing thrift, fighting waste, striving to successfully accomplish the goals, tasks set for the year 2025, the year of acceleration, breakthrough for the implementation of the 5-year plan 2021 - 2025, laying a solid foundation for rapid and sustainable development ahead.

6. Agencies, units not observing fixed weekly holidays on Saturday and Sunday will arrange holiday schedules according to the specific programs and plans of their units in compliance with the law.

7. For employees not covered under the scope in clause 1 of this Announcement, employers shall decide on options for the Lunar New Year, National Day, Victory Day on April 30, and International Labor Day on May 1, 2025, as follows:

   - For the Lunar New Year: choose 1 day at the end of the Year of the Dragon and 4 days at the start of the Year of the Snake, or 2 days at the end of the Year of the Dragon and 3 days at the start of the Year of the Snake, or 3 days at the end of the Year of the Dragon and 2 days at the start of the Year of the Snake.

   - For the National Day holiday: Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and choose 1 out of 2 days: Monday, September 1, 2025, or Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

   - Notify the chosen options for the Lunar New Year and National Day holidays to employees at least 30 days before implementation.

   - If the regular weekly day off coincides with the holiday stipulated in clause 1, Article 112 of the Labor Code, the employee is entitled to compensatory time off on the following working day as per clause 3, Article 111 of the Labor Code.

   - Encourage employers to apply the Lunar New Year, National Day, Victory Day on April 30, and International Labor Day holidays for employees as prescribed for officials and public employees.

8. Other holidays and Tet celebrations are conducted following the regulations of the Labor Code.
