Announcement of 16 key information technology products in Vietnam

On December 3, 2021, the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam promulgated Circular 19/2021/TT-BTTTT on the List of key information technology products.

According to the Circular, there are 16 products/product lines on the list of key information technology products in Vietnam, for example:

- 5G and later generations of telecommunications network equipment and software;

- 4G smart mobile phones and later network generations;

- Educational computers;

- Smart cameras, AI cameras and software for analysis, processing and management of data obtained from cameras;

- Optical fibers, optical cables and transmission and connection devices needed for the optical communication systems;

- Equipment and software needed for cloud computing systems;

- Software products applying blockchain technology;...

(Currently, Circular 01/2017/TT-BTTTT stipulates 07 products on the list of key information technology products).

Projects for investment in production of key information technology products in Vietnam prescribed in the Circular 01/2017/TT-BTTTT that already have access to incentive and preferential treatment policies prior before February 2, 2022 shall continue to enjoy incentive and preferential treatment policies for investment in research, development and production of these products until the end of the validity period of these policies prescribed by law.

Circular 19/2021/TT-BTTTT takes effect from February 2, 2022 and replaces Circular 01/2017/TT-BTTTT.
