Amendments to the requirements for passenger transportation businesses using automobiles in Vietnam

Decree 47/2022/ND-CP amends Decree 10/2020/ND-CP on the requirements for passenger transportation businesses using automobiles in Vietnam.

According to the Decree, amendments to the requirements for passenger transportation businesses using automobiles in Vietnam are as follows:

Do not use automobiles that have been converted from vehicles with 10 seats or more into ones with less than 10 seats (including the driver) for passenger transport business.

Do not use cars of similar design to automobiles with 09 seats (including the driver) or more for passenger transportation business by taxi.

(According to the regulations in Vietnam, it is not allowed to use a modified vehicle from a vehicle with a capacity of 9 seats or more to a car with less than 9 seats (including the driver) or a vehicle of the same size and design as a vehicle with 9 seats or more for the passenger transportation business by taxi).

Note: For cars converted from vehicles with a capacity of 10 seats or more to cars of less than 10 seats (including the driver), that have been issued with badges and signs before September 1, 2022, they may continue to be used for passenger transport business until the end of their useful life in Vietnam.

Vietnam's Decree 47/2022/ND-CP takes effect from September 1, 2022.
