Amendments to the minimum facility standards for classrooms of upper secondary schools in Vietnam

The minimum facility standards for classrooms of upper secondary schools in Vietnam have been amended by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam in Circular 23/2024/TT-BGDDT as follows:

- Classrooms: Ensure a minimum of 0.6 rooms per class; fully equipped with student desks and chairs that are conforming to standards and provide adequate seating for students; teacher's desk and chair; class board; lighting system in accordance with the National Technical Regulation on lighting - permissible lighting levels at workplaces; fan system (may be additionally equipped with an air conditioning system suitable to actual conditions);

- Specialized Subject Classrooms: A minimum of 05 specialized subject classrooms as stipulated by the Ministry of Education and Training for organizing teaching in subjects such as Music, Fine Arts, Technology, Informatics, Foreign Languages, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics and Law Education, History, Geography.

Based on actual conditions, combine certain specialized subject classrooms according to the principle; ensure the full functionality of specialized subject classrooms with similar functions, fully equipped for each subject, ensuring the arrangement of time and space to conduct teaching and organize educational activities according to each function, ensuring the schedule and teaching hours per student scale for each subject.

(According to current regulations, the minimum facility standards for classrooms of upper secondary schools are stipulated in clause 2, Article 18 of Circular 13/2020/TT-BGDDT as follows:

Classrooms: Ensure a minimum of 0.6 rooms per class; fully equipped with student desks and chairs that conform to standards and provide adequate seating for students; teacher's desk and chair; class board, lighting system, and fan system;

- Music Subject Classroom: At least 01 room;

- Fine Arts Subject Classroom: At least 01 room;

- Technology Subject Classroom: At least 01 room;

- Informatics Subject Classroom: At least 01 room;

- Foreign Languages Subject Classroom: At least 01 room;

- Multi-Functional Room: At least 01 room;

- Physics Subject Classroom: At least 01 room;

- Chemistry Subject Classroom: At least 01 room;

- Biology Subject Classroom: At least 01 room.)
