Recently, the Government of Vietnam has issued Decree 47/2019/ND-CP amending and supplementing Decree 10/2016/ND-CP on regulations regarding governmental agencies in Vietnam.
Decree 47 redefines the number of deputy positions in government agencies of the Government of Vietnam as follows:
- Committees and Offices with 15 to 20 working officials and public employees shall have no more than 02 deputy positions; in case there are more than 20 working officials and public employees, no more than 03 deputy positions shall be allocated.
- Public service providers that partially cover their own recurrent expenditures and public service providers guaranteed by the state budget for recurrent expenditures with up to 20 working officials and public employees shall have no more than 02 deputy positions; in case there are more than 20 working officials and public employees, no more than 03 deputy positions shall be allocated.
- Public service providers that fully cover their own recurrent expenditures, and public service providers that fully cover both recurrent and investment expenditures, shall have the number of deputy positions determined according to the self-governance scheme approved by the competent authority.
Currently, the number of deputy positions in these agencies is no more than 03 persons.
Decree 47/2019/ND-CP is effective from July 20, 2019.
