Amendment to the Regulations on Placing Kilometer Markers with Geographic Names on Inland Waterways

The Ministry of Transport has just issued Circular 49/2018/TT-BGTVT regulating the installation of kilometer milestones and the notation, serial numbers on inland waterway signs.

The specifications for place name kilometer signs are amended as follows:

- The background color of the sign is blue.- The text on the sign, including the inland waterway name, place name, and kilometer, is painted white, with specific dimensions stipulated in Appendix II of Circular 35/2012/TT-BGTVT or displayed via electronic boards according to the National Technical Regulation on inland waterway signaling in Vietnam.- The Vietnam Inland Waterways Administration and relevant Departments of Transport are responsible for establishing a database of place name-kilometer signs and integrating it into the information management system for inland waterway infrastructure within their management scope.
