Amendment to the National Technical Regulation on mirrors used for automobiles effective from December 05, 2024 in Vietnam

Below is the content of Circular 19/2024/TT-BGTVT dated June 03, 2024, Amendment 01:2024 QCVN 33:2019/BGTVT National Technical Regulations on mirrors used for automobiles issued by the Minister of Transport of Vietnam.

Amendment to the National Technical Regulation on mirrors used for automobiles effective from December 05, 2024 in Vietnam

Amendment 01:2024 QCVN 33:2019/BGTVT has modified certain contents of the QCVN 33:2019/BGTVT National Technical Regulation on mirrors for automobiles issued along with Circular 26/2019/TT-BGTVT, including but not limited to the following changes:

* Amend and supplement item 1.3.2 as follows:

“1.3.2 Camera-Monitor System (CMS) is a device system used to observe the rear, side, or front of the vehicle within the observation range specified in Appendix A of this Regulation by the combined method of camera-monitor defined as follows:

1.3.2.1 Camera (camera) is a device that records images of the outside world and then converts these images into video signals.

1.3.2.2 Monitor (monitor) is a device that converts signals into images that are displayed within the visible spectrum of the human eye.”

* Amend and supplement item 1.3.7 as follows:

“1.3.7 Mirror type: rear-view mirrors are considered of the same type if they share the same brand, manufacturer, production address, and do not differ in the following primary technical characteristics:

1.3.7.1 The design of the mirror assembly, including details connected to the vehicle (if any).

1.3.7.2 Type of mirror, mirror shape, size, and curvature radius of the reflective surface.”

* Amend and supplement item 1.3.8 as follows:

“1.3.8 Camera-Monitor System type: camera-monitor systems are considered of the same type if they share the same brand, manufacturer, production address, and do not differ in the following primary technical characteristics:

1.3.8.1 The design of the camera-monitor system, including details connected to the vehicle (if any).

1.3.8.2 CMS type, observation range, magnification, and resolution.”
