The Government of Vietnam recently promulgated Decree 133/2018/ND-CP amending and supplementing Decree 90/2014/ND-CP regarding the "Ho Chi Minh Prize" and the "State Prize" in literature and arts (abbreviated as VHNT).
Noteworthy is the classification of criteria for awarding the "Ho Chi Minh Prize" in Literature and Arts for works before and after 1993 (different from the current general criteria). To be specific:
- Works published and used before 1993 do not require specific awards but need to have particularly outstanding value in Literature and Arts, in terms of ideological content and artistic form;- Works published and used after 1993 must achieve one of the following awards:- Gold Prize, A Prize, First Prize at professional competitions, festivals, and national-level exhibitions in Literature and Arts organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism;- The highest award of the Central Specialized Literature and Arts Association in the specialized field;- Awarded the highest prize at international prestigious professional competitions, festivals, and exhibitions in Literature and Arts.
Decree 133/2018/ND-CP is effective from November 15, 2018.
