This is the prominent content of Decree 24/2020/ND-CP issued by the Government of Vietnam on February 24, 2020, specifying several articles of the Law on Prevention and Control of Harmful Effects of Alcoholic Beverages.
This Decree stipulates that advertisements for alcohol with less than 15 degrees of alcohol content and beer must include one of the following warning messages: "Drinking alcohol and beer can cause traffic accidents", "Drinking alcohol and beer can affect fetal health", "People under 18 are not allowed to drink alcohol and beer".
These phrases, when advertised on spoken media, visual media, radio, and recorded alcohol and beer advertisements, must be clearly read aloud. The speaking speed must be equivalent to the speaking speed of other content in the same advertisement.
Advertisements for alcohol and beer on visual media, electronic newspapers, electronic information pages, social networks, etc., containing images, and recorded advertisements must display the warning message in written text with contrasting colors to the background, ensuring visibility, and occupy at least 10% of the advertisement area.
