Adjustment of the GDP data publication date from August 1, 2024 in Vietnam

From August 1, 2024, GDP data will be released as follows:

- Preliminary data for Q1 and provisional data for Q4 of the previous year: April 6 of the reporting year;

- Preliminary data for Q2, semi-annual, and first annual estimate; provisional data for Q1: July 6 of the reporting year;

- Preliminary data for Q3 and nine months; provisional data for Q2 and six months: October 6 of the reporting year;

- Preliminary data for Q4 and second annual estimate; provisional data for Q3 and nine months: January 6 of the year following the reporting year;

- Provisional annual data: October 6 of the year following the reporting year;

- Official annual and quarterly data for the reporting year: October 6 of the second year following the reporting year.

Under the current provisions of Decree 94/2022/ND-CP, the GDP data release schedule is as follows:

- Preliminary data for Q1: March 29 annually;

- Preliminary data for Q2 and the first half of the year; provisional data for Q1: June 29 annually;

- Preliminary data for Q3 and nine months; provisional data for Q2 and the first half of the year: September 29 annually;

- Preliminary data for Q4 and the whole year; provisional data for Q3 and nine months: December 29 annually;

- Provisional data for Q4 and the whole year: March 29 of the following year;

- Official annual and quarterly data for the reporting year: September 29 of the second year following the reporting year.

It is known that GDP stands for Gross Domestic Product.

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is the value of final goods and services produced within an economy during a specific time period.

More details can be found in Decree 62/2024/ND-CP, which comes into effect on August 1, 2024.
