Additional tasks of the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam on advertisement

Decree 48/2022/ND-CP defines the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam.

According to the Decree, additional duties and powers of the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam on advertisement are as follows. 

Specifically, the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam will receive notices on the provision of cross-border advertising services in Vietnam; receive and process notifications of illegal cross-border advertising; and take preventive measures in accordance with the law.

This addition is in line with the regulations on management responsibility for the provision of cross-border advertising services of the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam, which have been amended and supplemented in Decree 70/2021/ ND-CP.

In addition, regarding advertising, the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam also has the following duties and powers:

- Perform the tasks of advertising management in the press, in the network environment, on publications and integrated advertising on postal, telecommunications, and information technology products and services according to the regulations of the law.

- Granting, extending, amending, supplementing, and withdrawing licenses for advertising channels and programs for audio and video newspapers; Announcement of a supplement specializing in advertising for printed newspapers.

Decree 48/2022/ND-CP takes effect from July 26, 2022 and replaces Decree 17/2017/ND-CP.
