Abolition of the Registration of Imported Goods by Foreign Construction Contractors

This is a notable content mentioned in Circular 35/2017/TT-BCT which repeals Circular 53/2015/TT-BCT detailing the registration of the list of imported goods, temporary import – re-export of foreign contractors in the construction sector in Vietnam.

Foreign contractors who already possess an Operating Permit and have signed a contract are not required to register imported goods according to the provisions in Circular 53/2015/TT-BCT.

The types of goods that do not need to be registered include:

- Imported goods that are raw materials, fuels, construction materials, complete and synchronized equipment for construction projects in Vietnam;- Imported goods and temporary import for re-export that are materials, machinery, and equipment for the construction of engineering works.

Circular 35/2017/TT-BCT comes into effect from February 12, 2018.
