Abolition of Additional Import Procedures for Automobiles from January 01, 2018

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just issued Circular 28/2017/TT-BCT amending and supplementing several Circulars on the business of petroleum, the business of conformity assessment services, and imports and exports under the management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Notably, the repeal of Circular 20/2011/TT-BCT and Circular 04/2017/TT-BCT stipulates the supplement of import procedures for passenger cars with 09 seats or less.

Thus, from January 1, 2018, importers of passenger cars with 09 seats or less when conducting import procedures are not required to submit additional designation letters, authorization letters, or agency contracts to state authorities as per the current regulations.

Additionally, Circular 28 also repeals Chapter IV regarding the rental of warehouses and rice milling facilities in the conditions for rice export business as stated in Circular 44/2010/TT-BCT.

See additional amendments and supplements at Circular 28/2017/TT-BCT.
