99 high technologies prioritized for development investment from 2021 in Vietnam

On December 30, 2020, the Prime Minister of Vietnam issued the Decision No. 38/2020/QĐ-TTg approving the List of high technologies prioritized for development investment and the List of hi-tech products encouraged for development.

According to the Decision No. 38/2020/QĐ-TTg of the Vietnam’s Prime Minister, several high technologies are prioritized for development investment from 2021, particularly:

- Internet of Things (IoT) technology;

- Blockchain technology;

- Quantum technology;

- Digital twin technology;

- Virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality;

- Building Information Model (BIM) technology;

- Geoinformatics, applying in hydro-meteorological systems, oil and gas exploration and extraction, agriculture;

- BPO, KPO, ITO technology; certification of digital signatures; content creation automation; software testing automation;

- Next-generation network technology (4G, 5G, 6G, NG-PON, SDN/NFV, SD-RAN, SD-WAN, LPWAN, IO-Link wireless, Network slicing, new generation optical network);

- Cognitive radio technology;

- Hydro-sound technology;

- Photonics and light technologies;

- Photovoltaics technology;

- Power microgeneration technology;

- etc.

More details at the Decision No. 38/2020/QĐ-TTg of Vietnam's Prime Minister, effective from February 15, 2021 and replaces the Decision No. 66/2014/QĐ-TTg.
