Duy Thinh

On December 29, 2017, the Ministry of Transport issued Circular 52/2017/TT-BGTVT stipulating the maintenance of maritime works, replacing Circular 14/2013/TT-BGTVT in the near future.

Circular 52 explicitly outlines that maritime structure maintenance costs include both new construction costs and costs for adjusting technical-economic norms to serve maintenance activities.

The funds for the aforementioned expenses are sourced from:

- The state budget;- Revenue from the use of maritime structures outside the state budget;- Investment capital from investors or owners for commercial maritime structures;- Contributions and mobilization from organizations and individuals;- Other legitimate sources of funds.

Regarding the determination of maritime structure maintenance costs, entities shall follow the provisions of Circular 03/2017/TT-BXD and current legal regulations.

More details can be found in Circular 52/2017/TT-BGTVT, which takes effect from March 1, 2018.
