12 key tasks in the 2023 - 2024 school year of the Education sector in Vietnam

On August 23, 2023, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam issued the Plan of tasks and key solutions for the 2023 - 2024 school year of the Education sector attached Decision 2457/QD-BGDDT.

12 key tasks in the 2023 - 2024 school year of the Education sector in Vietnam

In the 2023 - 2024 school year, the key tasks of the Education sector include:

(1) Perfecting institutions and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of education

(2) Effectively implementing preschool education, general education, and continuing education programs

(3) Improving the quality and standardization of teachers, lecturers, and educational administrators at all levels

(4) Arranging and allocate the state budget and mobilize and effectively use investment resources for education.

(5) Strengthening political, ideological, and national defense and security education

(6) Strengthening physical education, sports activities, and school health; ensuring school safety; proactively preventing, combating, and responding effectively to natural disasters and epidemics

(7) Planning and developing the network of higher education institutions, promoting the implementation of university autonomy, and improving the quality of human resource training associated with scientific research and innovation

(8) International integration in education

(9) Promoting digital transformation and administrative reform throughout the industry

(10) Strengthening inspection, examination, and handling of violations in the field of education and training

(11) Continuing to carry out emulation movements throughout the industry

(12) Strengthening educational communication work

For example, the tasks of perfecting institutions and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of education are as follows:

- Continue to institutionalize the views and policies of the Party and State on developing education and training and improving implementation efficiency.

Review, amend, and supplement the system of legal documents, noting practical issues that need to be adjusted to remove difficulties and obstacles; and create favorable mechanisms and policies for the development of education and training.

- Continue to innovate educational management and school administration towards professionalism, modernity, streamlining, effectiveness, and efficiency; promote autonomy; ensure a constructive role for educational development; and foster accountability, openness, and transparency.
