Recently, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment under the Ministry of Health issued Official Dispatch 96/KCB-DD&KSNK regarding the prevention and control of the spread of acute pneumonia caused by the Corona virus in hospitals.
To proactively prevent and control the spread of infections in hospitals, the departments receiving and treating patients infected with the Corona (nCoV) virus must fully implement the following requirements:
- There should be warning signs in the isolation area. Minimize the number of people entering and exiting the isolation area;- Comply with standard precautions. Apply isolation precautions according to all three transmission routes, with special attention to contact and droplet transmission precautions;- A dedicated team of healthcare staff may be arranged to care for and treat patients infected with or suspected of being infected with nCoV;- Ensure room ventilation at least 3 times a day;- Fully implement the bundle of measures for preventing ventilator-associated pneumonia if the patient has an endotracheal tube and the bundle of measures for preventing hospital-acquired bloodstream infections;- …
