11 criteria for assessing quality of distance education program for higher education level in Vietnam

On October 09, 2020, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Circular 39/2020/TT-BGDDT stipulating criteria for assessing quality of distance education program for higher education level in Vietnam

This standard is used by higher education institutions for self-assessment of all activities related to the education program to continuously improve the quality of distance education. The educational quality accreditation organization uses the standard to evaluate and recognize or not recognize the achievement of educational quality standards for education programs in Vietnam.

According to this Circular, 11 criteria for assessing quality of distance education program for higher education level in Vietnam include:

- Objectives and learning outcomes of the education program;

- Description, structure, and content of the education program;

- Teaching and learning activities;

- Activities for assessing and evaluating students' learning outcomes;

- Faculty members, researchers, teaching assistants;

- Staff members;

- Students and student support activities;

- Technological infrastructure, equipment, and learning materials;

- Management and implementation of the education program;

- Ensuring and enhancing the quality of the education program;

- Output results.

More details can be found in Circular 39/2020/TT-BGDDT, which comes into effect in Vietnam from November 25, 2020.
