10 Instances of Inspection Applied to Foreign Ships

On February 07, 2018, the Ministry of Transport issued Circular 07/2018/TT-BGTVT regulating the inspection of seagoing vessels.

State port authority officers must inspect foreign vessels in any of the following cases:

- The vessels do not have equipment, or the equipment is not operational as per the regulations of international treaties that Vietnam is a member of;- The vessels do not have Certificates, or the Certificates are no longer valid according to the regulations of international treaties that Vietnam is a member of;- The vessels do not have documents as required by international treaties that Vietnam is a member of;- The vessels have severely damaged construction or hulls, or defects that endanger the watertight integrity or the stability of the vessels;- The vessels have serious equipment defects affecting maritime safety and security;- The crew members do not know or do not perform essential activities related to maritime safety and security;- …
