08 Cases of Non-commissioned Officers and Soldiers Discharged from Military Service Before the Deadline

The Ministry of National Defense has just issued Circular 279/2017/TT-BQP stipulating discharge procedures for non-commissioned officers and soldiers serving in the Vietnam People's Army.

Conditions for early discharge from military service include the following cases:

- The Health Assessment Council at the divisional level or higher, or the Medical Examination Council concludes that the individual is not fit to serve in military service as prescribed in Joint Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP.- Certified by the Commune People's Committee and the District Military Command:- Being the only laborer directly supporting dependents who are incapable of working or are under working age;- Being the only laborer in a family severely affected by natural disasters or dangerous epidemics;- Children of war invalids or people infected with toxic chemicals whose working capacity is reduced by 61% to 80%;- Children of martyrs and first-class war invalids;- Siblings of martyrs;- One child of a second-class war invalid; one child of a war invalid, one child of a person infected with toxic chemicals with a working capacity reduced by ≥ 81%;- Not meeting the political standards prescribed in Joint Circular 50/2016/TTLT-BQP-BCA.

Circular 279/2017/TT-BQP takes effect from December 15, 2017, replacing Circular 11/2012/TT-BQP.
